A Nationally Awarded Transformation in the Heart of Floreat
Floreat Award-Winning Renovation
This exceptional Floreat award-winning renovation by Core WA has been recognised at the highest level, winning HIA Western Australia Home Extension and the HIA Australia-wide Renovation/Addition Project of the Year. Originally a 1960s home, the residence has been thoughtfully reimagined to deliver contemporary space, improved functionality, and a seamless connection to the garden. The result is a refined extension that respects the original home while elevating it to modern living standards.
Light-Filled Living Through Intelligent Design
The Floreat award-winning renovation focused on extending the kitchen and dining areas to create a generous, light-filled heart of the home. By lifting the ceiling height over the new kitchen, Core WA was able to introduce highlight windows that flood the space with natural light while maintaining privacy. Large cavity sliding doors open the living areas directly to the garden and alfresco zones, creating a strong visual and physical connection between indoors and out.
Seamless Integration & Craftsmanship
A defining success of the Floreat award-winning renovation lies in the meticulous attention to detail and integration between old and new. Existing timber flooring was extended through the new living areas with millimetre-perfect alignment, ensuring continuity and visual flow. Flooring levels were carefully coordinated to seamlessly transition from interior spaces to the new outdoor decking, reinforcing the sense of cohesion and craftsmanship throughout the home.
