Home Extension Character Narrow Block

Claremont

When our client approached us they came with an unusual challenge for a home in Western Australia. This property originally built in the 1930’s had been split down the middle creating two individual homes shared by a common wall and roof.

Many builders had shied away from the project due to the complex nature of working within the legislation of ”work affecting the adjoining property”. Issues such as roof maintenance become more challenging when both property owners are not in agreement of the upgrade.

Darren’s extensive experience working in the UK transforming Victorian estate homes into apartments meant Core was comfortable in taking on this Home Extension Renovation project ensuring that the character of the home was kept.  Working on a narrow block is all challenging.

Core WA created a bespoke extension to accommodate the family’s requirements while still in-keeping with the original building's character. The rest of the home was renovated and refurbished to recapture the charm of this vintage home. A new bathroom and laundry together with new jarrah flooring were added to complement the existing.

The final home is a quaint, family residence which brings together the best of old and modern.  This Home Extension Renovation Claremont changed this two bedroom house into a three bedroom home.
